Cookie policy
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Romanian version prevails.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files (around 1 KB) placed on your device by the websites you visit. Their format is: name + content + lifetime + domain.
Cookies do not contain viruses, malware or spyware. They are used for:
- Keeping the session (they recognize you between pages, so you do not have to log in every time).
- Saving preferences (language, display mode).
- Security (CSRF tokens, anti-fraud).
- Usage statistics (with consent, Google Analytics).
- Marketing and remarketing (with consent, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel).
Similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, web beacons, pixel tags) are treated under the same rules as cookies in this policy.
2. Types of cookies
2.1 By origin
- First-party: placed directly by articole.psk.ro.
- Third-party: placed by external providers (Google, Meta, etc.) integrated with the website.
2.2 By duration
- Session: temporary, deleted when the browser is closed.
- Persistent: remain on the device for a defined period (from 24 hours to 2 years).
2.3 By purpose (consent categories)
- Strictly necessary: without them the website does not work. They CANNOT be refused (exception under GDPR / art. 5(3) ePrivacy).
- Preferences / functionality: improve the experience (language, display).
- Analytics: anonymous/aggregated traffic statistics (Google Analytics).
- Marketing: targeted advertising on Google, Meta, LinkedIn (remarketing).

Note: the marketing and analytics cookies listed are enabled only if you accept the corresponding category in the banner. The exact list served differs depending on the integrations active at the time of your visit.
4. Consent and control
On your first visit we show you a consent banner with three options:
- Accept all: we enable cookies from all categories.
- Refuse all: we enable only strictly necessary cookies.
- Customize: you choose categories individually (analytics / marketing / preferences).
Your choice is stored in the cookie-consent cookie and applied across the whole website. You can revisit your decision at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
According to the GDPR (art. 7) and Law 506/2004, consent must be:
- Freely given: no pre-ticked boxes, no penalty for refusing.
- Specific: by separate categories, not "all or nothing".
- Informed: with access to complete information (this page).
- Unambiguous: through an explicit affirmative action.
5. Google Consent Mode v2
Since March 2024, Google requires the implementation of Consent Mode v2 for all websites that serve users in the EEA and use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Floodlight or other similar services.
On articole.psk.ro we send the following consent signals to Google:
ad_storage: allows cookies for advertising (Google Ads, conversions).ad_user_data: allows sending user data to Google for advertising.ad_personalization: allows personalized advertising (remarketing).analytics_storage: allows Google Analytics 4 with user identification.
In the default state (before a choice is made), all of them are set to denied. After the user's choice, the signals are updated through gtag('consent', 'update', ...). This mechanism lets Google serve "aggregated cookieless pings" for users who refuse, while keeping legal compliance.
6. Disabling per browser
Besides the banner, you can manage cookies directly from your browser:

7. Third-party cookies
The following providers may place cookies on our website, only with your consent for the corresponding category:
- Google LLC: Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads. Google privacy policy
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.: Facebook Pixel. Meta privacy policy
- LinkedIn Corp.: Insight Tag (if we run campaigns). LinkedIn privacy policy
These providers set their own policies. We recommend reading them before accepting the respective category.
8. Your rights

9. Changes
The list of cookies may be updated when we integrate new tools. Check the date of the last update in the header. Substantial changes (adding a third-party provider) are reflected immediately in the consent banner so that you can review your choice.
